Need a Ride?

Transportation is a critical link that assures seniors access to vital services and getting necessary items needed to live healthy and comfortable lives. Seniors should not have worries about not being able to get to their physician appointments, getting groceries, or being able to handle other important affairs that are necessary to living a healthily and comfortable life.

Thanks to a local program, Nutrition and Senior Services, transportation assistance is available for Southeast Texas seniors:

Hardin County Rural Public Transportation
This service is available to all residents of Hardin County. Funding is provided in partnership with the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission and the Texas Department of Transportation. The program operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Trips are provided within Hardin County for $1 per trip and to Beaumont for $1.50 per trip. Trips must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. For more information please call (409) 892-0979.

Mid-County Elderly & Disabled Transportation
This service is available to elderly or disabled residents of Nederland, Port Neches and Groves. Funding is provided in partnership with the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission and the Texas Department of Transportation. The program operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Trips are provided within Mid-County for $1 per trip and to Beaumont for $2 per trip. Beaumont Seniors 60+ Transportation
This service is available to seniors, age 60+, who are residents of Beaumont. Funding is provided in partnership with the Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Texas. The program operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Trips are provided within Beaumont for a suggested contribution of $1 per trip. Nutrition & Services for Seniors is a Southeast Texas organization  provides meals to seniors through the Meals On Wheels program, Congregate or Group Dining Services (Lunch served to groups of seniors at several Jefferson County and Hardin County locations) , Transportation (for Doctor visits, grocery shopping, employment or social service appointments, CareNet Medical Alert (an alert sysytem where seniors can push a button and get in touch with a “live voice” for assistance), and AniMeals (pet food for seniors that are enrolled in the Meals on Wheels program)
