Houston Senior Bus Trip Ideas – Art Museum of Southeast Texas
Beaumont has earned a great reputation as a destination for Houston senior bus tours.
The Art Museum of Southeast Texas is a great cornerstone for any visit to downtown Beaumont. They always have fresh exhibits, so each trip feels special.
Here are some AMSET exhibits you will want to check out:
Sherry Owens “Fabric of Life” – Through September 10
Media: Sculpture
The current featured solo artist is Sherry Owens.
She is based in Dallas and is well known in art circles for her sculptures made of crepe myrtle tree limbs.
Sherry Owens’ art evokes both the beauty of the natural world. She calls herself a recycle artist and utilizes crepe myrtle branches that would otherwise be discarded.
Owens’ work emphasizes the luscious capabilities of line and form as her pieces of crepe myrtle intersect, weaving together and creating something completely new.
When you check out her AMSET exhibit, it will not surprise you that Sherry Owens began as a weaver. The Art Museum of Southeast Texas is excited to feature her work as it gives viewers the chance to appreciate art founded in nature.
This is Owens’ first featured solo exhibition at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas.
Sherry has participated in previous AMSET group exhibitions.
Sherry Owens “Fabric of Life” exhibition is generously sponsored, in part, by:
- Kim and Roy Steinhagen
- The City of Beaumont,
- The Wesley W. Washburn, M.D. and Lulu L. Smith, M.D. Endowment Fund
- The Texas Commission on the Arts
- The C. Homer and Edith Fuller Chambers Charitable Foundation
