The Best Years Senior Center offers a number of services and activities. Our instructors and members have the attitude, knowledge, ability and skills to contribute to a happier lifestyle. Read about our activities, invite a friend, as this may be the most energizing feeling you will experience.

Highlights for August and Beyond!

  • Gift Shop at the Best Year’s Center. Open Monday-Thursday. 10a-1p. and on Fridays from 9a-Noon. As the end of summer nears, take advantage of our “once-a-year” sale. Each week in August different items will be sold at a 10% discount. It’s not too early to start shopping for Christmas gifts.The schedule of categories and items is as follows:
    • August 5-9 – Purses, hats and Bible cases
    • August 12-16 – Scarves and scarf jewelry
    • August 19-23 – Bracelets, rings and brooches
    • August 26-30 – Necklaces, chains and earrings
  • The Best Years Center is making a Big Splash! The center will offer Water Aerobics at the newly remodeled Alice Keith Park swimming pool. The pool has a gradual slope that leads into the water, rather than climbing down stairs or ladders, it’s like entering from a beach. Tuesdays – Friday 11a til noon
  • Cold Cut Billiard Tournament – Sept. 19 & 20. This tournament is for fun and they are inviting those who have never played in a tournament to join in for cold cut sandwiches and the joy of playing billiards. No trophies, pure fun!
  • Coupon Basics – August 29 at 1p – It’s more than a coupon! Robin will show you how to double your savings!!

  • Saturday, September 7. Lutcher Theater, 7:30 pm. “A Band Called Honalee”. An evening of the music of Peter, Paul and Mary and other folk legends. $25 ticket price: Pay by check to Best Years Center at signup. $10 van charge: pay in cash at departure.

AARP 55+ Safety Driving Classes
Held every 4 to 6 weeks at the center. Will lower insurance every 3 years.
$12 members; $14-non-members. Not for violations. Call 838-1902 for next scheduled class.

Educational day trips are planned several times a year. Please read newsletter for the next
exciting outing! Fees are nominal and various according to place/distance.

The classes at the Best Years Senior Center are led by volunteers. It is through these teachers that we can offer the public quality programs to keep mature adults active and healthy. We are grateful to have over 25 volunteers, who give generously their time, skills.

Members fill out a one page application. Most classes are free; some have a small fee to cover cost of supplies. Van rides are provided two days a week; Monday and Wednesday; Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. Application of participate must be on file. Call 838-1902.
